Ethylene Valve Shutoff (C2H4)

About Ethylene

Ethylene is a plant hormone that differs from other plant hormones in being a gas. It is a simple asphyxiant and is very flammable.

Ethylene is used in the ripening of plants and produce in order to speed them to market. It is shipped in pressurized gas cylinders, ton containers, and tank cars.

Accidental Release of Ethylene

Powell Emergency Valve Closure Systems are designed to prevent significant releases of ethylene. In the case of an ethylene release, the emergency valve closure system will immediately close the ethylene container valve, effectively preventing further release regardless of where the ethylene leak occurs downstream.

It is possible to prevent an accidental release of ethylene. Contact us today to discuss your specific application requirements.
